Younis Khan quits Pakistan Cup after umpiring row

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa captain Younis Khan has quit the ongoing Pakistan Cup in protest of ‘substandard umpiring’ in the tournament.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa manager Mukhtiar Hussain confirmed the development to DawnNews on Saturday and said Ahmed Shehzad would take over the reins from Younis.
Younis was extremely critical of the umpires after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s loss to Islamabad and even though his side defeated Punjab by two runs on Friday, the veteran Pakistan star was once again unhappy with the match officials.
And things came to a head when the 38-year-old was fined 100 per cent of his match fee for his comments about the umpiring in the Pakistan Cup.
