HOW CARBOHYDRATES AND FATS AND OIL WORKS IN THE BODY

Carbohydrates includes starches, sugars, cellulose, and pectin. They are composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Carbohydrates constitutes about two-thirds of the diet and are a relatively cheap source of energy. They are a nutrient that provides the body with energy and in some circumstances may be converted into fat; this occurs when a surplus quantity is eaten. Almost all carbohydrates are obtained from vegetables.

1. Starches are most abundant in root vegetable and cereals. Starch is the form in which many plants store their food reserves. it is also found in small and varying amounts in fruits like bananas and plantains. When starch is subjected to heat it turns to dextrin. This is sweetish in flavor and found in the crust of bread, cake, roasted plantains, and also in toast.

2 Sugars are fuond in fruit and vegetables. the principal kinds are:

Glucose: this is the simplest sugar. It is fuond in sugar cane, the juices of fruit and plants, especially in onions and corn.
Fructose: Another simple sugar, which can be changed into glucose. it is sweetest sugar and it found in plant juices, fruits, and honey.
Sucrose: found in sweet fruits and in carrots. d, Lactose, its found in human and other milk. e, Maltose is found from starch during the germination of grain and occurs during the production of malt liquors such as beer, fermented corn-drink, and fermented corn-dough dishes, e.g corn-porridge. All sugars are sweet, and all are soluble in water. they are easily digested, wholesome in moderation, and a good preservatives.

3 Cellulose is the fibrous substance in fruit, vegetables, and husks of cereals. It gives bulk to food and aids bowel action. It is of no nutritive value as food. FATS fuel for energy is stored in some plants (e.g oil seeds) as oil and in animals as fat. in plants and also in animals, fats are formed from carbohydrates, fats, therefore are substances made up of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. They provide the body with heat and energy. They include all fatty minerals such as meats fat, butter, and all fats and oil derived from animal or vegetable sources.

Fats are highly valuable foods. They supply more heat and energy than any other food substance. They are not easily digested because of their high carbon content.
The animal fats used in cookery are butter, land, dripping, fat of meat and oily fish. Vegetable fats are nut oil, vegetable oil, margarine, shea butter.

i really hope this will help really help to know the functions of these things, always stay updated for our new updates.

HOW TO SET UP YOUR MEAL PLANNING

The food we eat can be divided in to three main groups:
1: Body-building or flesh-forming foods, e.g proteins.
2: Energy-giving foods, e.g carbohydrates and fats.
3: Protective foods, e.g minerals and vitamins.

When planing meals, food from each one of these group must be provided. The foods selected should supply the required daily nutrients in the most digestible form.
At least three meals should be eaten every day; two big meal and one small one. It is essential that a meal be eaten in the morning in other to start the day's work well.
Fruit should be eaten every day, especially in the morning. It stimulates bowel action. Green vegetables supply vitamins and mineral salts.
They may be eaten either raw, in salads, or in stews or as an accompaniment to the main dish. Daily consumption of first-class protein should be encouraged.
Vary the menu by alternating fish with meat. Beans, peas, and groundnuts are valuable secound class protein in the meal.
Cereals and root vegetables supply carbohydrates, but they may be alternate in the menu. Some fat or oil should be eaten everyday.
Unbleached palm oil is rich in vitamin A and D. Ground-nut oil provides vitamin E.
Plenty of protective foods should be provided, e.g milk and egg. plenty of fresh food is very important. Stale and tinned foods lack some of the vital food substances.
Choose foods which are in season, because they are then the cheapest and best. Variety is essential. It promotes the appetite and you are more likely to supply the necessary nutrients in the correct proportions.
Plan ahead, because this saves time, energy, materials and money. Consider the number of people in the family, the age of the people eating the meal, their occupation, their state of health, the times of the meal, the money to be spent, and the cooking time allowed.
plan to use up left-overs, as this saves time and money. Serve simple but well-cooked and nourishing food and introduce new ways of serving. Plan and serve foods attractively so that the family will learn to eat a large variety of foods.

BREAKFAST

This being the first meal of the day, it should be nourishing and digestible. The quantity depends on the requirement of the individual.
For most people it should be substantial, becuase the interval between breakfast and the next meal is usually long and during this time a considerable amount of energy is used up, especially by children of school-going age, and by manual workers.

I WILL LIKE TO DROP THIS SUGGESTIONS FOR BREAKFAST WHICH CAN BE OF HELP TOO IN THE BODY.

Fruit: to supply vitamin C and acids to stimulate the digestive juices and bowel movement, e.g paw-paw, oranges, pineapples, fruit juices.

Cereals: porridge, corn dough, millet meal, guinea corn meal, oats, rice water, cassava meal, ground rice.

Fish: fried fish, e.g herrings, sardines, kippers, fish stew, fish cakes.
Meat: Fried liver, kidney, bacon, sausage, meat stew, meat balls.
Eggs: boiled, poached, scrambled, fried, omelette.
Vegetables: tomatoes, peppers, and okra.
carbohydrates foods: bread, root vegetables (e.g yam, and cassava), also plantains, kenkey, rice, beans, garri.
Fat: butter, margarine, and oil in stews.

Drink: coffee, tea, cocoa, milk, water.

LAUNCH AND DINNER

The size and character will vary with the individual and the family.
Carbohydrates: root vegetables, cereals, plantains.
These may be prepared in various forms, e.g garri, kenkey meals, etc

Protein: meat, fish, beans, peas, groundnuts.
Fats: palm nuts, palm oil, nut oils, vegetable oils.
Vegetables: salads, vegetables stews, boiled green vegetables, okros, tomatoes, cucumber, pumpkins.
Fruits: bananas, oranges, mangoes, pawpaw.
Sweets: custerds, puddings, fruit salad, stewed fruit.

Younis Khan Drops Simple Catch on Amir’s Delivery

Pakistan lost the toss and it is England who is batting first here at this magnificent ground at Old Trafford, Manchester. The pitch and con conditions are brilliant for batting and they prompted Cook to get the pads on first.Misbah wanted the same but was denied by the luck factor. Now his job is to make sure that his bowlers deliver the new ball in the right area and get some early wickets here. this will be a very important first session here.As for the wicket, it has no grass which some were not expecting. There were talks about England preparing bowling pitches against Pakistan. But people should remember that England knows the bowling strength of Pakistan. There was no way England could have gone on to make bowling wickets. That would have taken away the advantage from them. Pakistan bowling is much stronger than England.England has brought in James Anderson and Ben Stokes and there is no doubt that this English team looks much stronger than the one which played at Lords. Pakistan will be under pressure but they have to tackle all this. The first innings will matter again. Pakistan will have to bowl in the right areas. The new ball should be taken as an advantage by the Pakistan team. they need wickets here. After lunch, they will have their chance. England batter will be short of concentration and Pakistan can attack them after lunch.Yasir Shah might come handy though he has not turned the ball much so far. he can face the same problem again because it is the first day of the test match and the wicket is fresh. For a leg spinner, it is always tough to make the ball turn on day one. the bounce for Yasir was also pretty average. He will have to work hard for his wickets here.

Stuart Broad: 'I will shake Mohammad Amir's hand

Stuart Broad: 'I will shake Mohammad Amir's hand, but it's hard to take that one of my best moments is tainted forever'

  • Pakistan take on England at Lord's in the first Test match from July 14
  • Mohammad Amir is set to feature six years after spot-fixing scandal
  • Fast bowler's actions 'tarnished' Stuart Broad's memories of stunning ton
  • Broad scored 169 and starred in a world record eighth-wicket partnership
  • But during match three Pakistanis were shown bowling no balls 'to order'
  • Amir got a five-year ban and spent three months in a young offenders' institution but Broad has 'no hard feelings' about facing him again
Stuart Broad will shake disgraced Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir’s hand when the pair face each other at Lord’s in 11 days.
It will be the grown-up thing to do. Broad may never forgive Amir for the central part he played in cricket’s worst corruption scandal ever to play out on UK shores but he is at least willing to accept he has a future in the game.
Much water has passed under the bridge since Broad and Amir last faced each other in a Test match on the same ground, when the Englishman hit his only Test century to date in the 2010 Test during which Amir, Mohammad Asif and captain Salman Butt were exposed as spot-fixers by a newspaper sting.

Stuart Broad will take on Pakistan with England at Lord's for the first time in six years from July 14

Mohammad Amir has to remain humble: Shoaib Akhtar

"It is impossible because there will always be some black sheep somewhere," Akhtar pointed out.

With the much-awaited Test series between England and Pakistan about the begin in less than a week’s time. The sub-continent team has a pace bowling attack that is expected to impress in favorable conditions. All eyes will be on Mohammad Amir when the youngster takes field after quite an interval in England. Ahead of the series former Pakistan pacer, Shoaib Akhtar has asked Amir to stay humble not to show attitude.

England skipper Alastair Cook had earlier warned Amir of a hostile reception as the crowd is not going to go easily at him. “The best way for Amir to counter pressure is to perform on the field which I am sure he can do. But he also has to remain humble and not show attitude. He has to blend in with his teammates and win matches for them,” said Akhtar.
The Rawalpindi express urged Amir to realize that this is a great opportunity for him. “He has to realize that this is a god sent opportunity for him. He has got a second shot at playing for Pakistan. He has to realize this is not an interval in a movie because if he makes another mistake he will be finished for life.”
He added that Amir will surely be under the scanner. “He should have no doubt he will be under the scanner all the time from different quarters,”

Eid Mubarak - Shoaib Malik

Shoaib Malik (Punjabi, Urdu: Ø´Ø¹ÛŒØ¨ ملک‎ (born 1 February 1982) is a Pakistani cricketer and former captain of the Pakistani side. He made his One-Day International debut in 1999 against the West Indies and his Test debut in 2001 against Bangladesh. On 3 November 2015, he announced his retirement from Test cricket and says his focus is to play in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Shoaib Malik has taken over 100 ODI wickets, and has a batting average in the mid 30s in both Test and ODI cricket. His bowling action has come under scrutiny (particularly hisdoosra) but he has had elbow surgery to correct this. Malik was ranked second, behind teammate Shahid Afridi, in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings in June 2008. In March 2010, Malik received a one-year ban from international cricket from the Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB); the ban was overturned two months later

Personal life[edit]

On 12 April 2010, Malik married international Indian tennis player Sania Mirza[4] in an Islamic wedding ceremony at the Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad, India followed by Pakistani wedding customs[5][6] for a mahr of  6.1 million (US$137,500). Their Walima ceremony was held in Lahore, Pakistan.[7] The wedding was even more controversial because Malik was accused by another girl of already being married to her and hence he could not marry Mirza without first divorcing her. Initially for many days, Malik refused to grant the divorce claiming he was never married and as this resulted in media attention, he finally divorced the girl.

Early career[edit]

Shoaib Malik first played tape-ball cricket in the streets as a child. He began playing cricket seriously in 1993/94 when he attended Imran Khan's coaching clinics in Sialkot. He began as a batsman, and developed his bowling later. He used to get in trouble with his family for playing cricket, as they wanted him to focus on his education. In 1996, Malik attended trials for the U-15 World Cup. He was selected in the sq for his bowling.[8]
In May 2001, Malik's bowling action was inspected. The PCB group of bowling advisers concluded that his stock off-spinner was legal, although his delivery going the other way was not. He was encouraged to concentrate on his off-spin and to practice bowling his other delivery without bending his arm.[9] In an One Day International (ODI) match against England in June 2001, Malik suffered a fractured right shoulder after falling awkwardly while attempting to take a catch.[10]
Malik was approached by Gloucestershire County Cricket Club in July 2003 to act as a replacement for Ian Harvey, who was on international duty with Australia. John Bracewell, the club's director of cricket, commented that he was "excited by the prospect of signing an international spinning all-rounder to replace Ian during the Cheltenham Festival and the C&G semi-finals. He will add a new and refreshing dimension to the sq ... which is in keeping with our playing philosophy to both win and entertain".[11] He sufficiently impressed in two County Championship and three one-day matches that resulted in renewing of his contract for the 2004 season. Mark Alleyne, the club's head coach, remarked that "Shoaib did very well for us last year in the short time he was with us and fitted in very well. He is a gifted all-rounder who is worthy of a place in either discipline and as a 21-year-old, he can only get better and I am really pleased at having him in my sq".[12] Over the course of his two seasons at Gloucestershire, Malik played eight first-class matches, scoring 214 runs at an average of 17.83 with two fifties[13] and taking 15 wickets at an average of 45.06, with best bowling figures of 3/76.[14] He also played twelve one-day matches, scoring 345 runs at an average of 43.12 with three fifties[15] and taking 10 wickets at an average of 47.60, with best bowling figures of 3/28.[16]
In October 2004, Malik was reported to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for having a "potentially flawed bowling action";[17] eight months later, his action was cleared.[18] In the intervening period, Malik was used mainly as a batsman.[19] He was also given a one-Test ban by the Pakistan Cricket Board after admitting to deliberately losing a Twenty20 match for the Sialkot Stallions against Karachi Zebras to knock Lahore Eagles out of the 2004–05 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup. The inquiry concluded that the incident "damaged Pakistan's cricketing image and had shown disrespect to the crowd", but that "his actions were not part of any match-fixing with no financial implications, but were an immature attempt to express his disappointment at earlier decisions in the competition that he felt went against his side".
During his Test career, Malik has batted at 5 different positions and has the unusual record of batting at every position except 11th in ODIs. Pakistan's problems in finding a reliable opening pair have led to Malik being used as an opener in Test and ODI matches. In Test cricket, he made a big impression with his match-saving innings against Sri Lanka in 2006, during which he batted for the whole day and finished with 148 runs not out. His bowling has been effective at times, especially in one-day cricket where his best bowling figures are four wickets for 19 runs (4/19) in addition to many 3-wicket hauls.
On the international stage Malik struggled in England. In 12 ODIs across four tours between 2001 and 2006 he scored 98 runs at an average of 8.16, with just two scores above 20, far below his career ODI average of 34.35. Of players who have played at least eight ODIs in England, Malik's is the furthest below his overall average.[21]

Eid-al-Fitr

Eid-al-Fitr (Eid al-Fitr, Eid ul-Fitr, Id-Ul-Fitr, Eid) is the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. It marks the end of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting and prayer. Many Muslims attend communal prayers, listen to a khutba(sermon) and give zakat al-fitr (charity in the form of food) during Eid al-Fitr.

What Do People Do?

Many Muslims attend communal prayers and listen to akhutba or sermon on the first day of the month of Shawwal. These prayers are held outside or in large venues, such as sports arenas, in some places. Many Muslims may travel far to participate in these activities. Some communities organize different festivities, such as communal meals or events for children, on this day.
If a Muslim has not given zakat al-fitr during Ramadan, he or she can give this on Eid-al-Fitr. Zakat al-fitr is a form of charity consisting of a quantity of food, such as barley, dates, raisins or wheat flour, or its monetary equivalent given to the poor. Many Muslims may also prepare festive meals to share, wear new clothes, visit relatives and give presents or candy to children. Cards can also be sent, often featuring the words “Eid Mubbarak” (blessed Eid).

Public Life

Eid al-Fitr is not a nationwide public holiday in countries such as Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom or the United States. However, many Islamic businesses and organizations may have altered opening hours. There may also be some congestion around mosques during the day.

Background

It is not possible to predict the date of Eid-al-Fitr according to the Gregorian calendar accurately. This is because the month of Shawwal begins, and hence the month of Ramadan ends, after a confirmed sighting of the new moon, either in Saudi Arabia or locally. The new moon may be sighted earlier or later in specific locations. Hence, many Muslims in different communities, for example on the east and west coasts of the USA and Canada, may begin the Eid-al-Fitr celebrations on different dates.

Poet: Muniza Wasi
By: Muniza Wasi, Islamabad

Some people are strange
So sweet yet so soar
But one can not judge them
By looks or even attitude
They may be not beautiful
Be round and grumpy
Their tempers could be high
And voice shrill and loud
The heart they but possess
Is just so pure and bold
They shine like a gem
When judged by character.

English Sad Song.(With Lyrics).Right Here Waiting For You

"Right Here Waiting"

Ocean's apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain

If I see you next to never
How can we say forever

[Chorus:]
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

I took for granted, all the times
That I thought would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now

Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me going crazy

[Chorus]

I wonder how we can survive
This romance
But in the end if I'm with you
I'll take the chance

Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me going crazy

[Chorus]
