Ahmad Shahzad is the new head of the KPK team after the former captain Younis Khan take an early exit from the cup. Younis will not play the Pakistan cup now and Ahmad will lead the side in the remaining games of the tournament.
Younis Khan was penalized for going verbally against with umpires and their decisions. Younis protested against the penalty and withdrew his name from the KPK team. This was a poor decision from the senior test batsman of team Pakistan.
Ahmad Shahzad in his first game as captain played well. He scored 79 runs with the bat. Ahmad was in some really good batting form and his innings was full of some master strokes.
The number of boundaries he hit is 10. Most of the time Ahmad was busy in hitting the ball in the gaps and making runs in the form of singles and doubles. Ahmad was a lot more relaxed as we have seen rarely in the past.
Ahmad Shahzad has a mature head on his shoulder and he showed it today. His team needed a good start and Ahmad provided them against Balochistan.
Ahmad was in control of his every shot. He was good on both sides of the wicket. He drove the ball good in the gaps. His pulls and short arm jabs were hit pretty confidently.
Ahmad Shahzad just needs to rectify his attitude issues and he can do wonders in the future. At this moment, he fails to perform to his full potential because of his attitude issues. He has to get rid of them in order to become a good player for Pakistan in the future. Ahmad Shahzad has the talent in him and he just needs to give it rationalism as well.
